Saturday, September 4th: Hellgate Rodeo

Our backgrounds are varied as are our interests. As a group we just want to keep reaching farther along a combined musical journey. Curtis, Mike, Stan and Bob met while playing at the open mic at Brooks and Browns in Missoula. They started playing together there and decided to form a band. Andy and Bob worked together in the Rattlesnake Blues band last year and was brought in to man the drum kit. Robert Harsch will be joining us on keyboards and due to summer scheduling conflicts James Smith will be filling in for Stan. We like to rock, burn some blues, touch our country roots and lay out some cool jazz chords. It is all in the name of good music, http://www.facebook.com/pages/Hellgate-Rodeo/118305811536262

Saturday, September 11th: Tom Catmull

He is originally from Spring, TX, but moved to Missoula, MT in 1994 where he currently resides on the Northside of town with is wife and two young sons. His performances are split between intimate solo acoustic venues and dancehalls where he plays with his 4-piece Americana-style band The Clerics. All along this merry road he has had the good fortune to share stages with the likes of Greg Brown, Robbie Fulks, Kelly Joe Phelps, Charlie Musselwhite and Asleep at the Wheel. The style of their music usually lands somewhere between the blurred lines of country, country swing, pop and folk. Its predictably tough to pin the music to one neat genre, but it is definitely an American roots driven sound. Visit their website at www.tomcatmull.com

Saturday, September 25th: Mudslide Charley

MudSlide Charley plays the blues with gusto and humor. From a traditional guitar/harmonica blues duo to a grinding five piece, we carve out an original sound from the rich, fertile dirt of the Mississippi Delta. Driven by groove and loaded with spontanaity, MudSlide Charley speaks with raw conviction and gutbucket bravado to satisfy our souls and reverberate with our audience. Our music, at times, may not be pretty, but sewn in the fabric of our rough hewn and passionate approach resides emotional truths, raunchy innuendo and momentary salvation. Mudslide’s website can be found at http://www.myspace.com/mudslidecharley
Thursday, September 30th: Handful of Luvin

At first, it's easy to mistake Handful of Luvin’ for just another set of passé ex-college jam band rockers in the Dave Matthew’s Band tradition, but a second look reveals a quirkier and more rewarding aesthetic. A rock quartet featuring a rocking classically trained violinist, Handful refers to their music as "fiddle driven roots rock," and their cheerful blend of folk-rock, reggae and world rhythms, plus secondhand baroque and Celtic influences with catchy pop hooks, strongly recalls the vintage sound of Actual Tigers, the madness of Flogging Molly, and the moodier, more experimental side of Wilco.
The band 'Handful of Luvin' originally began in the spring of 2002 when front man David John & Andrew Joslyn {fiddler} met at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. At the time David John was promoting his own second self-produced solo album 'Blue Room,' and had a considerable fan following in Seattle and Bellingham. Andrew on the other hand was a classically trained musician who had decided to pursue freer styles of fiddle playing such as Scots Irish, Blues, Gypsy, and also rock fiddle. When the two met, and began playing with each other, Andrew's fiddle complimented David's unique guitar work and soulful vocals perfectly. In the fall of 2003 they began performing together & immediately realized the potential of their sound, and quickly set about forming a band.
Moving to Seattle in 2005, David John(vocals and guitar) and Andrew Joslyn (violin/viola) fleshed out the Handful with bass guitarist Patrick Files, and drummer Michael Knight. Patrick's own background with funk, rock, and thrash metal brought a whole new dimension of musical variety into the band, whereas Pat’s friend Mike Knight {drummer} was recruited as the final member into the band. Originally Mike was apart of the indie-jam rock band 'Carraway' and produced several recordings with them. Within Handful Mike is able to use his extensive expertise with the drums & percussion. His uncanny attention to detail keeps the band on point.
Working with Carol Tingstad (Tingstad & Rumbel, David Lanz, Gypsy Soul), Handful has shared the stage with a number of iconic groups such as: Phish, The Proclaimers, Carbon Leaf, Young Dubliners, Brett Dennen, and more.
Aside from Handful of Luvin', violinist Andrew Joslyn performs with Seattle Hip Hop artist Macklemore, and the Passenger String Quartet. Michael Knight performs outside of Handful with the Barzuk signed indie punk band "Blunt Mechanic", as well as teaches at the renowned Paul Green School of Rock (Seattle.) Patrick Files performs with the Mobius Jones Everlasting Blues Band outside of performing with Handful. You can listen to them and find out more about them at http://www.handfulofluvin.com/fr_introduction.cfm
Saturday, October 2nd: Walrus James
Thursday, October 7th: W.C. Worth
The W. C. Worth Blues Players are a small group of musicians dedicated to recreating a sound heard across the south between the wars. Electric guitars and amplification were not prevalent. Recorded music was not prevalent. Radio was just coming around, and records were wax cut onto 78 rpm discs. Music was live.
In hundreds of juke joints and roadhouses, small groups of musicians were playing each other’s work and borrowing phrases to make their sounds. You can hear people play in that genre if you can find a Lightin’ Hopkins or a Barbeque Bob cut or two. This music was prior to the migration into the cities and was authentic, better than looking at that mule’s ass blues.
I’m W.C. Worth, and have been playing blues since I was 13 years old. I was raised on B.B. King, Taj Mahal, and John Lee Hooker. Join us, conveyed by guitar, stand-up bass, and harmonica, on a journey into the past, into a different part of the country, and into a different culture. We play the blues, which is why we call ourselves the W.C. Worth Blues Players.
Saturday, October 9th: Voodoo Horseshoes

The time when the Kingston Trio drank too much Robotussin, and had a jam session with the Grateful Dead and Elvis Costello. A Western Montana favorite since 2005, the Voodoo Horseshoes have earned a reputation as a hard working, musically versatile band. We’ve been called everything from “bluegrass” to “alternative country” to “rock with
banjo”, and we bring an energetic and danceable show of primarily original music wherever we play, earning us the review “Wicked fun to dance to” by the historic Symes
Hotel in Hot Springs, MT. As a four piece ensemble we create world music with a Western rock edge through a unique combination of ancient and modern instruments
such as banjo, percussion, bass, electric/acoustic guitar, mandolin, didgeridoo, and drumkit. Voodoo’s website can be found at http://www.myspace.com/voodoohorsehoes

The songs of Isaac M. are personalities unto themselves. One gets to know them. They have a life that lives in each hearing, and one gets to know them deeper with every listen. With simple, lush guitar under hum-able melodies, each song is a fully explored slice of life. Isaac M's acoustic guitar-driven, emotionally intelligent folk songs put the focus on simple, unpretentiously solid songwriting. Some musicians write about a feeling or about an event but, after the fact, Isaac M. brings the listener along with him. We see the moment of decision, we make the first impression, we see and feel the world through his eyes, through his songs. Skillful and precise lyrics, sung with vulnerability and wistful articulation, Isaac lets us own a part of these songs as we listen. You can hear what he brings to the stage @ www.myspace.com/isaacmmusic
Saturday, October 23rd: TBD
Thursday, October 28th: David Carter
David T. Carter is an Australian songwriter living in America and has been nominated for the past for years as best Americana act in Nth Bay Bohemian! Carter is a highly regarded songwriter with poetic and stylistic originality known by many fellow musicians and critics and continues to follow his own muse and keeps creating a body of work that is unique and individual.
David T. Carter's music owes it's complex simplicity to the finely crafted country/pop tunes of the fifties and sixties. There is a significant level of sophistication mined from jazz artistry of the same eras. The passionate urgency found in most gypsy and klezmer music has followed a convoluted pathway into David's repertoire and become an important texture in the fabric of the sound. His "classic" music is infused with everything from Oriental sounds to Latin beats and all of these elements, combined, are the reason David T. Carter succeeds at reaching audiences from two to eighty-two, in venues that are generally genre/niche oriented. The music is moody, honest, romantic, quirky, fun and carries a compassionate message about the human condition. You can get a glimpse of his sounds at http://www.davidtcarter.com/
